Hi there, I’m Rocaline. I create ceramics inspired by architecture, urban environments and nature. I’m based in Lisbon, where I work from a private studio. My aesthetics are strongly influenced by my training in architecture and graphic design in Brussels. Along the years and travels, I have developed a graphical language that tries to capture the small elements I spot around me. These subjects become the means for me to express the way I perceive my surroundings. I translate my experience of movement and emotions with simple shapes that I use to create ceramic pieces.
In my work, you will find a blend of geometric shapes and fluid, flowing colors. The memory of places and landscapes is mirrored in my designs on clay and with clay. By keeping my compositions abstract, open and connected I can adapt them to different ideas and structures such as vases or sculptures. I’m still in the very beginning of this ceramic journey, and I hope to keep learning along every step of the way!
