This series started with the wish of exploring a different clay type in contrast to the white stoneware I had been mostly using. So I decided to work with a speckled one as I liked the contrast of the dark dots on the light gray clay body. I searched for a design that would dialogue with these dots, without taking their aesthetics away. I wanted to keep most of the body untouched, and just used a few geometrical elements painted in two tones of blue glaze. Those elements are inspired from architecture in urban areas, in which I extract minimal graphic shapes that resonate for me.
